♦♦It’s always important to look into the ratings of the products you’re purchasing. A poor rating can cause nightmares on site for everyone involved, and a short life for your product.♦♦ What is the difference between IP and IK ratings? 🤞 ♦IP stands for Ingress Protection. This is a rating of how well the product can resist liquids and solids from getting into its internal components. ♦An IP rating consists of a two-digit number. The first digit is measured on a scale from 0-6 and indicates protection against solid ingress. 0 = No protection. 1 = Protect against solid objective grater than 500 mm, such as a hand. 2 = Protect against solid objective grater than 12.5 mm, such as a finger. 3 = Protect against solid objective grater than 2.5 mm, such as a wire. 4 = Protect against solid objective grater than 1.0 mm, such as a thin strap. 6 = Dust protected, prevents ingress of dust sufficient to cause harm. 7 = Dust tight. ♦The second digit measures resistance to liquid ingress and is measured on a scale from 0-8. 0 = No protection. 1 = Protected against water drops. 2 = Protected against water drops at 15 degree angle. 3 = Protected against water spray at 60 degree angle. 4 = Protected against water splashing from any angle. 5 = Protected against water jets from any angle. 6 = Protected against powerfull water jets and heavy seas. 7 = Protected against the effects of temporary submission in water 30 min at 3 feet . 8 = Protected against the effects of permanent submission in water up to 13 feet . ♦♦IK ratings are all about impact. The K stands for ‘kinetic’. This is a measure of how well the product can withstand mechanical impact. In other words, how hard can you hit it before it breaks? 🧐 ♦♦Much like IP ratings, IK ratings have 2 numbers after them. Unlike IP ratings, these numbers don’t each represent a different aspect, instead they represent levels of impact resistance. IK ratings measure on a scale of 00-10.♦♦ IK00 = no protection against mechanical impact IK01= equivalent to an impact from a 0.25 kg mass dropped from a height of 56 mm IK02 = equivalent to an impact from a 0.25 kg mass dropped from a height of 80 mm IK03 equivalent to an impact from a 0.25 kg mass dropped from a height of 140 mm IK04 equivalent to an impact from a 0.25 kg mass dropped from a height of 200 mm IK05 equivalent to an impact from a 0.25 kg mass dropped from a height of 280 mm IK06 equivalent to an impact from a 0.25 kg mass dropped from a height of 400 mm IK07 equivalent to an impact from a 0.5 kg mass dropped from a height of 400 mm IK08 equivalent to an impact from a 1.7 kg mass dropped from a height of 300 mm IK09 equivalent to an impact from a 5 kg mass dropped from a height of 200 mm IK10 equivalent to an impact from a 5 kg mass dropped from a height of 400 mm weight and Hight may be variable.

2: Bảo vệ chống đối tượng > 12,5 mm.
3: Bảo vệ chống đối tượng > 2,5 mm.
4: Bảo vệ chống đối tượng > 1,0 mm.
6: Bảo vệ chống bụi.
7: Kín bụi.
Chữ số thứ hai (0-8): Khả năng chống chịu chất lỏng.
0: Không có bảo vệ.
1: Bảo vệ chống giọt nước.
2: Bảo vệ chống giọt nước ở góc 15 độ.
3: Bảo vệ chống tia nước ở góc 60 độ.
4: Bảo vệ chống tia nước từ mọi góc.
5: Bảo vệ chống tia nước mạnh.
6: Bảo vệ chống tia nước mạnh và sóng biển.
7: Bảo vệ chống ngâm nước tạm thời.
8: Bảo vệ chống ngâm nước vĩnh viễn.
Xếp hạng IP đo khả năng chống chịu của sản phẩm trước chất lỏng và chất rắn xâm nhập vào linh kiện bên trong.
